Day 871 – #8 Watch a film from each year of my life – nearly there!!

rogueNearly there, nearly there!!  I know this is getting a bit dull posting about films all the time but there are now only two left….

At the weekend we watched Rogue Trader.  Having recently watched The Wolf of Wall Street (which I really, really hated) I wasn’t really looking forward to it.  I thought it was going to be much of the same.  However, I was pleasantly surprised.  I like Ewan McGregor anyway so that helped but it was an interesting story.  Obviously most people know about the collapse of Barings Bank and that Nick Leeson was held responsible.  But this explains more in detail.  It’s only one side of the story of course but you couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for Leeson in the end.  Presumably that’s what he wanted when he wrote the book upon which the film is based so you take it with a pinch of salt.  But it’s a very watchable film.  Well worth seeing if you haven’t already.
